If you haven't read this masterpiece I highly suggest it. I feel like I could go on and on about this book. Yes I know that is where tolken was inspired from, but if someone would have told me that long ago I would have cracked this book open way sooner. What it felt like to me was a biblical story more in line with the Viking sagas of Iceland and the Bible than anything. I had always heard it was like a history text book and super dry. But what is crazy to me is that The Silmarillion was never described to me properly. The thing is I still haven't read the LORT yet and I know after finishing this I need to. Today I finished the book and afterwards my wife and I talked on the phone for hours and hours about the book and the meaning of the last few chapters.

It has given us so much to talk about and has been an amazing experience. So about 4 months ago we started reading it together when we were separated.
